While working at Moxie Post I worked on a political spot for David Edwards entitled “Favorite.“ Awhile back it won a Pollie. Most recently it won 2008 Silver Telly for ”Use of Graphics.” [ View The Quicktime ]
I just put together a fun typographer style animation to the song Dodge Bullets by hip-hop artist Noah 23. Take a look at it in the motion section.
We have been working on some great stuff at Daily Planet, and I am happy to finally share that the the latest set of Cricket Wireless spots are now online for your viewing pleasure.
As you can see I have launched a new design of my website. There isn't much new work to showcase but there are a few older things that you may not have seen before.
I thought I would share some information about the people and the time that went into the latest project I've completed, the Animate Objects El Dorado music video.
The music video for me kicked off in April 2007 when Mathias Sorum contacted me about doing motion graphics on a music video. Mathias already had an idea of the vision for the music video, he went over the ideas with me and we discussed how it all could work. The entire video was going to be shot on green screen. Overall the project sounded great and I was looking forward to bringing what I could to the table. The video was shot at Resolution Studios in May 2007. Joshua Reis was the DP for the video and understood very well what needed to be done for a green screen shoot to work in post. Once the HD footage was transfered Maeve Price took care of editing the green screen rough cut. Having a rough cut and shots picked was very important before beginning the motion graphics. The edit was finalized in August 2007 and then I began the motion graphics work. By the time I started the work on the video, Nik Madalinksi who was going to be assisting me on the video had moved to Cambodia. Due to his slow Cambodian internet issue he was unable to help as much as we had originally talked about back in May. Nik was able to contribute what he could and he did the graffiti names of the three mc's along with the 4/5 drawn stills for each of the three mc's. I continued working on the video on and off in my free time. In early November I had a rough cut together of the video and it was getting close to completion. And by January I had an almost fully finished version and was ready to get notes from the band and see what needed to be tweaked to make the video rock. Mathias Sorum and I sat down and went over what we still wanted to see done. Early February 2008 the video was completed.
I hope you enjoy it. 4:30 minutes of green screen footage is a lot for one motion graphics artist to take on but I think I was able to produce a great piece of work.
I have been working on so much great stuff I figured it was time to showcase it all in a new reel. Check out the motion section for the brand spanking new winter reel.
It has been a pretty busy 2008 already, my desktop has been a total mess lately. Keep an eye out becasue I should be posting some new work and a brand spanking new reel.
